About the creator

I came up with the idea of this brand due to loneliness and a lack of social acceptance growing up. Coming from a less wealthy family and being raised by a single father, things were very difficult at times. The name WUE was pulled from my first name “Chukwuedozie” (originated in Nigeria) which means “God mends all things that are broken.”

Through much trial and error, I finally came up with a concept that not only rang true to me, but others can relate to it and take hold of it as well. For a long time I was lost and had no clue what direction my life was headed, until it dawned on me that this world is what I make it. I put my goals into place, and created a mindset for myself that I stand by every day. I make mistakes. I’m human like the rest of us, but I know as long as I can learn from those mistakes, losses, and victories, I am capable of achieving anything I put my mind to.

So then I found a way to share this mindset and drive with others through what I love the most- fashion. Due to not having money growing up, thrift shopping was my go to. I’d put together the most unorthodox outfits and experiment with different textures, colors, and styles. I learned to sew at a young age, so I implemented that skill into my clothing designs as well. We fast forward some years later and and here I am with the creation of WUE. At times I still question where I’m going and how things will end up in my life. It is with the understanding that with the support from people around me and my unbeatable desire to achieve greatness, nothing can get in my way.

This was the discovery and creation of The Power to Mend.
